The National Cyber Crime Unit's prevent team have published a report evaluating the routes into cyber crime.

Among the risks, they explore the anecdotal evidence that autistic people may be disproportionately represented in cyber crime when compared with the general populace.

They also found that rather than financial gain, teenagers are drawn into cyber crime for the challenges and sense of accomplishment that these activities bring and that early intervention with positive opportunities, role models and mentors all help steer young people towards positive outcomes.
