Research priorities
Our research programme focuses on the areas where we believe evidence can make the greatest difference.

Neurotype-specific workplace experiences
Neurodivergence is not one experience. Future research will explore the different strengths, barriers and workplace experiences associated with a range of neurotypes, helping organisations better understand how to create environments where individuals can thrive.
Building the neuro-inclusive employer toolkit
Many employers want to become more neuro-inclusive but are unsure where to begin. We are developing practical, evidence-based guidance covering recruitment, onboarding, workplace adjustments, communication, leadership, career development and retention, giving organisations the confidence to create genuinely inclusive workplaces.
AI and Assistive Technologies
Artificial intelligence has the potential to transform accessibility in the workplace. Our research explores how AI-enabled tools and assistive technologies can reduce barriers, improve communication, enhance productivity and support neurodivergent professionals throughout their careers. Our focus is on ensuring technology becomes an enabler of inclusion, rather than creating new barriers.
Onboarding and retention
The first few months in a new role often determine long-term success. We will examine how mentoring, manager support, workplace adjustments, learning approaches and organisational culture influence confidence, wellbeing, retention and career progression for neurodivergent cybersecurity professionals.
Early pathways into cybersecurity
Creating equitable opportunities starts long before employment. We are exploring how schools, colleges, universities, apprenticeship providers, employers and community initiatives can work together to improve awareness of cybersecurity careers and create more accessible pathways into the profession.
Building the business case for Neuro-Inclusive cybersecurity
Creating inclusive workplaces benefits organisations as well as individuals. Our research examines how neuro-inclusive employment practices influence recruitment, retention, innovation, productivity, wellbeing and organisational resilience, helping build a stronger evidence base for investment in inclusion.
From research to action
Everything we publish is intended to help organisations: Recruit more inclusively. Improve workplace accessibility. Develop neuro-inclusive leadership. Support career progression. Reduce barriers throughout the employee lifecycle. Create workplaces where different ways of thinking are recognised and valued. We aim to bridge the gap between research and practice, ensuring that evidence leads to meaningful improvements for both individuals and organisations.
