Our research

Research that creates practical change

At NeuroCyber, we believe lasting change starts with evidence. Despite growing recognition of neurodiversity, many neurodivergent people continue to face unnecessary barriers to entering, progressing and thriving within the cybersecurity profession.

While awareness has increased, there is still a need for high-quality research that helps organisations understand what works, what doesn't and how more inclusive workplaces can be created.

As a registered UK charity, research sits at the heart of our mission. We conduct and commission independent research that advances understanding of neurodiversity in cybersecurity and translates evidence into practical guidance for employers, educators, policymakers and the wider cybersecurity community.

Our ambition is not simply to identify challenges, but to develop practical solutions that improve opportunities for neurodivergent people throughout their cybersecurity careers.

Our Research Approach

Everything we do is guided by five principles.

Evidence-led

We build on robust research, lived experience and academic collaboration to strengthen the evidence base for neuro-inclusive cybersecurity.

Practical

Our research is designed to produce guidance, resources and tools that employers and educators can apply in the real world.

Inclusive

Neurodivergent voices are central to our work. Wherever possible, our research is shaped by lived experience alongside academic and industry expertise.

Collaborative

We believe the best research brings together employers, researchers, educators, government and the cybersecurity community to tackle shared challenges.

Future-focused

As cybersecurity and technology continue to evolve, our research explores how emerging technologies, workplace practices and changing skills requirements can create more equitable opportunities.
